2026 12 Metre World Champion Marstrand Sweden

Marstrand, Sweden

What drew me to this image is the combination of power, determination, and atmosphere. The dramatic sky and towering clouds create a sense of tension, while the crew remains fully focused on sailing their yacht toward its goal. Their coordinated movements and commitment capture the essence of yacht racing: teamwork, precision, and perseverance. From a photographic perspective, this was a challenging image to create. To achieve the perspective I envisioned, I had to fly the drone low and close to the yacht while carefully composing the shot to balance the boat, sea, and sky. The result is an image that highlights both the beauty and intensity of competitive sailing.
