The X-35 Dolcenera, owned by Bisti, Giuseppini and Lallai, ran into trouble in the final race of the Gavitello d'Argento organised by the Punta Ala Yacht Club. In a regatta contested with winds of over twenty knots and rough seas, the Dolcenera crew hit the leeward mark where it became stuck. At the same time, they were unable to lower the spinnaker, which rolled up into increasingly bizarre shapes. After several minutes of work, they managed to get the sail back on board and break free from the buoy, fortunately without any of the crew members being injured.
