Rounding Onions Point. Greenwich Australia Feb 2025 Last year I travelled a lot for my marine photography including Barcelona where I covered the Louis Vuitton 37th America's Cup. So, this year I decided to keep it simple and capture images closer to my doorstep as I live in an area of Sydney where there are around 8 Yachts clubs in 5-kilometre radius. This drone photo captures some of the Wednesday Greenwich Flying Squadron Twilight Fleet. The GFS twilight races operate during the daylight-saving months and usually start in front of the 100-Year-old clubhouse in narrow water of Lane Cove River; there are seven divisions with up to 80 boats across the fleet. The first hurdle after the start is to get around Onions Point at Woolwich; after that rounding the currents and winds change and then change again, it is a complicated course, but seasoned sailors know it off by heart.
