Launch of ‘Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image of 2013’ contest is a great success

The annual marine photography competition brings together over 80 photographers from 19 different countries. Since the official competition launch on 7 November, the event website has received over 50,000 visits, viewing 320,000 pages!The ‘Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image of 2013’ competition is proving more popular than ever. In just under a week since the launch, 50,000 people have visited the event website and viewed 320,000 pages. More than 15,000 people have already voted for their favourite photograph of the year here: www.yachtracingimage.com The ‘Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image’ competition is in its fourth year and is organised by MaxComm and sponsored by Mirabaud. The contest is reserved for professional marine photographers and this year has received submissions from 82 specialists, seventy-four men and eight women. The competition aims to pay tribute to their work, to provide them with a promotional platform and to promote the sport of sailing to a wider audience. The ‘Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image of 2013’ award ceremony will take place at the World Yacht Racing Forum, held this year in Gothenburg, Sweden, on the 10th and 11th of December. There will be two prizes:

  • The Award for the ‘Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image 2013’, judged by an international jury that includes Antonio Palma, partner and CEO of Mirabaud & Cie, as well as leading figures from the world of sailing and marine photography
  • The Mirabaud Public Award, judged by the participants of the World Yacht Racing Forum and the public who can submit their vote online.

The winners of both categories will be awarded a prestigious ‘Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image’ trophy and prizes offered by TAG Heuer and Nespresso. In 2012, the event received an incredible 200,000 visits to the competition website, viewing nearly two million pages. Big numbers which are set to grow in 2013!
