One of my favorite images is an "under the boom" shot of the skipper and crew in challenging conditions - both are hiking, the boat is flat and it is a clean shot of the skipper's face and his expression, and this day's conditions afforded that opportunity with these Roger Williams sailors. The crew is hiking extremely as evidenced by him being somewhat behind his skipper. The winds were gusting to about 18 knots but were blowing in a direction opposite a strong current making for a rougher than usual sea state. Note the wave in the foreground in this regard. Also, the angle of the sun was such that the out-of-focus sparkles on the water behind the sailors adds a striking element to the image. Finally, zooming in on the image affords an interesting reflection n the skipper's sunglasses of his boat and the trim of the jib.
