Two machines built to fly, sharing the same sky for a split second. I took this during SailGP in Rio de Janeiro, where the race course sits right next to Santos Dumont Airport, and I spent much of the event waiting for one exact alignment: an F50 at full speed on its foils, a plane lifting off behind it. When the Danish boat crossed my frame, the jet appeared above the wing and everything lined up. I shot from water level to show how little of the boat actually touches the sea. For me, this image captures what modern sailing has become: less about floating, more about flying.
