Day 6 of 8 of the Techno293 world championships regatta and we’d had a whole range of conditions. Very light winds, medium breeze, bright sun and moody skies. I was given a final chance for a different colour palette when light winds in the early afternoon prevented racing. Tired sailors went out into the evening sun after already completing two races in the morning for two more races of the day. I was able to position myself in a suitable spot to capture the finish of the final race on the red course; this was shooting almost directly into the sun. This silhouetted figure and monochrome image ended up being my favourite of the event due to its impact, anonymity and simplicity.
