49er Spring Championship

Lanzarote

Because of Covid, very few regattas were being sailed anywhere but qualification for the Tokyo Olympics was still open. Under very strict conditions, a limited number of events were managed eventually including the 49er Spring Championship. This event meant a great deal to me personally after more than 12 months of rolling lockdowns; to see athletes performing at their best again plus the spectacular backdrop of Lanzarote was a great relief and a sign of hope.
