Wednesday evening regatta

Scheveningen, Netherlands

During the Wednesday evening sailing regatta in Scheveningen, silhouetted sailboats competed against the backdrop of a sunset solar eclipse. The rare alignment of the sun, sea, and sails created a striking interplay of light, shadow, and reflections on the water. Despite the competition unfolding across the horizon, the scene conveys a remarkable sense of peace and stillness. The combination of a fleeting celestial event and the dynamic silhouettes of the boats transforms an ordinary regatta into an extraordinary visual moment. Captured at just the right time, this photograph reveals the quiet beauty of sailing beneath an unusual sky.
