About the shot :
A crossing between two racing J Class sailing upwind is always a fantastic moment to watch, not only because the size and the power of the yachts, but also because it brings back to the history of the America's Cup when those boats were the sate of the art of sailing before WWII. As a photographer there are plenty of different places you'd like to be at the same time to get such a close crossing, but this one performed as Rainbow and Svea were going upwind inside the Canoubiers Bay in the gulf of Saint-Tropez was particularly impressive.
