Clipper 2025-26 Race

Clipper Race Leg 3, Stage 4 Cape Town to Fremantle (roaring forties)

After leaving Cape Town the race got off to a pretty awful start. A classic South African wind hole produced by Table Mountain saw us drop to the back of the fleet and watch the majority of the fleet sneak away in a rogue pocket of wind. As the evening rolled by, the wind turned, and with 30+ knots on the nose we had to make up for lost time. With our torches on the trimmers and bow, we worked a long and arduous shift to gain on the fleet. Much to our satisfaction the next mornings position report put us in first place.
