About the shot :

Time to drop the spinnaker! Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez is the last event of the mediterranean classic season and attracts the top of the cream of the most beautiful yachts in the world, both classic and moderns, including giant maxi-yachts. The 24th edition has been blessed with windy conditions for the classic races, with wind sometimes exceeding the weather forecasts once the races were on their way. It is excatly what's happenning on this close reaching leg to gaff-rigged yawl Sky1890 designed and built in England by Thethis Ware in 1890. The yacht has been deeply restored in 199 then 2018. When this photo was taken Sky 1890 was not actually having a broach but has been sailing several minutes with this king of extreme heal angle while under spinnaker with both mainsails eased, the time for the crew to get organized to drop the spinaker. Quite an impressive moment which shows how classic yachts can be pushed during racing nowadays.
